A new week at the lodge has begun, and that means a new group of guests ready for a surf vacation to remember; each was greeted with waves of 3-4 ft, un-ridden perfection. The boys eagerly put in their fins, waxed the surf boards and loaded up with zinc, then excitedly paddled down to familiarise themselves with the walls of Aganoa Lefts. The surfing was spectacular.
Just when we thought the stakes could go no higher, day two at Aganoa decided to turn up and deliver its most pristine weather conditions of the 2016 so far. Our guests spent hours in the water riding across the smooth, arching surfaces of both our right peaks. The lodge was ablaze with energy from the top-notch swells.
Our guests have enjoyed a selection of breathtaking sunsets that never seem to fail to draw gasps of wonder as they dip below the horizon. The Aganoa sunset truly proves the old saying of 'red sky at night, surfers delight'.
Tuesday brought a busy day of activities. Guests were taken on a fishing expedition trolling along the reefs. We were lucky enough to hook a 90 cm Barracuda. Later that afternoon, guests surfed our break on the East Coast, Pastor Point. Here they glided along 3-4 ft rights.
With froth levels high, Aganoa producing pumping 5 foot sets and only mid-way through their trip, it's safe to say that there will be plenty more perfect waves ridden. Let the vacation begin.
