Greeted with 2-3ft playful waves, our guests enjoyed the first surf for the trip at Aganoa accommodated by blue, unclouded skies, tropical warmth and translucent waters.
This week our guests took part in a wide range of activities, from snorkelling out the front with our resident turtles, to bringing in the night's dinner guided by our local Captain, Lee. We also managed to enjoy the refreshment of the local waterfall numerous times throughout the week.
June 1st was a big day in Samoa for the locals, celebrating 54 years of Independence. Here at the lodge, we celebrated with our local staff. They performed a few special dances and songs that were significant to their culture. They even included all our guests for a big Samoan BBQ for lunch.
We’ve had the privilege of a kite-boarder staying with us this week, who has shown us something a little different from the usual surfing. He was able to use the strong off-shore winds at Middles to launch from the post-card beach. His skills generated a small audience of amazed local children who were so taken with his performance they were more than excited to help when packing up.
