The sun has been shining and meshed in with a great little pulse of swell; we've had a chance to really get “around the grounds” and hit a variety of spots that are all in close striking distance. Kindies, Pinnacles, The ER and Max’s left have all seen our patronage, and we even broke in a spot that we've not surfed before and may be the first to have ridden, out the back of one of our nearby islands making for a pretty memorable session.
Yesterday we had a consistent 3-4 foot swell running, and we tested everyone's endurance with a 4 session day. We started with a quick blast out to Kindies for the early part of the day, and then from mid morning, we could be found surfing perfect 3-4 foot Pinnacles. Lunch was hoovered at the speed of a thousand gazelles before the quick run back to Pinnacles for a repeat of the previous sessions A+ conditions and a wrap up with a quick hit-out in 3 footers at Max’s left five minutes up the road on the way home.
Today we headed down to Weggs to change things up. This left features an inside and outside section and ends into a super cool rivermouth. The setting is pure Sumatran jungle and if you have seen our Facebook cover page you will know the wave, named after its finder and one of the Telo Islands pioneers the legendary, Weg. This arvo, we hit Max’s Left with not another soul around and filled up on fun 2-3 footers before the guides que'd up another epic sunset / beers-on-the-deck combo as per most other arvo’s this trip putting the TIL magic into full effect.
The forecast has more swell on the way so hopefully the froth level holds. Stay tuned.
