ESCAPE TO THE WEST
With some pretty intense trades this week and plenty of swell, it was clear where we needed to go - Middles to Coconut Grove.
S and SE swells battered the Southern coast of Savaii, especially the swell magnet that is Aganoa so we packed up and did a few day trips to chase waves. While we had a few early morning calm wind sessions on Aganoa Right, most of our time was spent at Middles in side-offshore 2-4 ft waves.
Coconut Grove on the West coast turned out to be the gem with our escape being rewarded with a post card white sand beach glowing in the tropical sun. Dead offshore winds swept the small peaks we had to play on while in between sets we were able to admire the hundreds of Coconut trees lining the beach.
The week was topped off with a lovely fia fia night of dance, fire twirling, food and laughter.
