Guests this week arrived to some heavy rain and slack winds with a cyclone on the way to provide the potential for some great waves. Upon arrival to Aganoa, the guest’s boards had barely hit the floor of their beach, Falés, before they hit the surf under dense clouds and an ominous sky.
A still morning greeted our guests on their first full day at Aganoa, and under a bruise of a sky, waves of liquid steel peeled down the reef making for a great day of surfing. With the heavens opening sporadically, getting barrelled was the best way to escape the chilly bullets when they came.
The next day the cyclone arrived with onshores out the front so it was time for a trip to the north coast. Perfect offshore waves and plenty of swell was found at left-hander that is often considered the best wave in Samoa. Everyone got some epic waves before heading back to Aganoa for dinner. We all enjoyed an early night knowing that the rest of the week was stacking up for more consistent surf.
