With my parents over, it was time to show them everything I had been telling them about Samoa and Aganoa. Early in the week, Aganoa Right had been a really fun two-foot with the odd bigger one coming through. However, with the swell out front getting smaller, I decided to take my dad around to the north side and see what we could score, and score we did. A north swell had filled in, and Blue Pools, a secret spot we love to surf here at Aganoa, was a four-foot and rifling hundreds of meters down the reef.
We surfed until we couldn’t paddle another stroke; it was an amazing session! Dad and I were cheering on every wave and frothing so hard. After such a stoke-filled session, it was nice to come back to Aganoa and head up to the Yoga Pavilion and enjoy some relaxing mother-son time, stretching out weary shoulders all in preparation for another long session in the next morning.
A few trips to the waterfall and some time spent sightseeing around the island, mixed up with great surfing and quality time with my family has made this week at Aganoa and truly joyful week.
